You only have one thing left to do in this life, and that is to die. Everything else is a choice! That being said, should it not prompt you to have the best human experience you can? Let it inspire you to let go of any harboring resentment, envy, wants, or desires. Forgive everyone that you feel has cheated you and set yourself free! Most of all, forgive yourself!
Setting Yourself Free
Many people claim they love freedom, but ironically, they enslave themselves willingly with their wants and desires. This leads to harboring resentment. Set yourself up to be successful with a strategy of forgiveness, appreciation and love. Be compassionate with yourself so you can see clearly how to be compassionate with others. Let the weight lift off of your shoulders by forgiving yourself and everyone that you feel owes you something.
The Strategy Of Forgiveness
The strategy of forgiveness starts with you, like everything else does. Take this responsibility seriously. A wise old man taught me, “Be kind to yourself Maximus”, now, I tell you, be kind to yourself! This may take more strength than you think. If you are bitter about the choices that you have made in the past, remember they are “choices”. Forgive yourself for things that were in and out of your control. Forgive others that may have abused or cheated you and remember you only have control over your own actions and feelings.
The Madness Of Others
If someone is mad at you, that is their choice, is it not? You can neither make another mad nor happy. That is their choice to feel either way! There is a proverb that states:
A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones. Proverbs 14:30.
Sometimes, when people envy you, then they may become mad. It is not your responsibility to make them feel anything. It is your responsibility to create for yourself a “sound heart”, one without envy.
This Takes Actual Strength
To forgive yourself, to set yourself free, takes actual strength. This is your business, this is your life. It affects everything you do, say and feel! Be your own light and let it shine bright! Be an inspiration to yourself and contagious in a good way. Let the madness of others be their own problem. You have no business in another’s affairs!
What If People Are Mad At Me?
Is it in your ability to control how others feel? This is their choice to be “mad”, no? Understand, they only hurt themselves. Pity them, but be strong for yourself and do not let these kinds of vampires steal your joy because they choose to be miserable.
Memento Mori
To sum it all up, “Memento Mori”, remember that you must die. This is truly out of your control and not a choice but a necessity, like eating and drinking. Your moment is now, live now, choose now!
“You have power over your mind––not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” – Marcus Aurelius
